Where are the pictures??

My dad asked my mom if there were any new pictures on the blog. Unfortunately, we have run out of room on the memory and haven't transferred them to hard copy and I believe we also killed the batteries. So, once we get the digital situation under control we will get new pictures up! stay tuned, it just keeps getting better and better!

Addendum to previous entry and a shout out to LA

Okay, so my friend LA- Lorie Ann, gave me a DVD before I had Hudson called "A Happy Baby" that we were supposed to watch. It talks about the fourth trimester and the five s's of calming a baby. Well, both Chris and I totally forgot about it until tonight when we were both at wits end with the crying. So, we put in the DVD and its concepts seemed practical and appeared to work, at least for the kids on the DVD. But its anybody's guess as to whether or not it can stand up to the likes of our son- the best crier in the world ( Can you tell that I am going to be that mom who is proud of her child no matter what he does?!)

We just tried it 30 minutes ago and it worked!!!! Hudson is currently sleeping soundly in his swing. This is the earliest he has ever been asleep. So, thank you LA for saving our lives. To all our family and friends who are expecting or will be expecting in the future you already know what you will be receiving from the Pendleton crew. I know I am drawing sweeping conclusions from one experience but I feel good, very good, about this technique.

In conclusion, our baby does not have cholic- just newborn syndrome which can be remedied by the "happy Baby" DVD. (we hope!!!!)

Just say no to Cholic

This weekend Hudson decided he would test the waters of a cholicy baby! That's right- he cried and cried and cried all night long for no apparent reason. Didn't want to feed, didn't want to sleep, didn't want to rock- Just cry. He could make a fortune if crying was a profession. Anyway, he is crying right now so I gotta go. He is doing well other than the crying. Take care and we will get pictures up soon.

Oh, did I mention he turned from his belly to back twice already!!! He will be running away from me before I know it.

Not so little baby boy

I took Hudson for his one month appointment this week where they weighed and measured him. First of all, let me just say that I can't believe he is a month old. The time has flown by. Hudson now weighs 10lb 14oz which puts him in the 95th% for weight. His height hasn't changed but that still puts him in the 75th%. If he keeps this up he is going to have to learn to walk a lot sooner because I won't be able to carry him! He is definitely a fan of the nursing! I tried to introduce a bottle yesterday and he was not having any of it however when his dad gave it to him he took it eagerly. Guess he knows the difference between mom and dad!!! Life is good.

Water Baby!

Hudson took his first bath tonight! He loved it! He smiled and kicked his legs the whole time. He would laugh a little if we squeezed a washcloth over him. It would drip water on him and he'd smile from ear to ear. He seems to be a natural water lover already!
We filmed it too. We got some great film of him smiling and splashing!
(Ignore the full frontal ... Hudson demanded I post the picture in it's entirety. He's an artist to the core.)

Two Sisters and Three Kids!

This speaks for itself!

The boys!

Here's Hudson with Brad and Justin. They're his cousins from PA.

Who is that cute kid?

Check him out ....

Family Pirate

I found this picture of my great uncle. It was difficult because pirates rarely take pictures. However, this was taken by a renowned photographer so he posed with his parrot Rex. The sword he's holding is still in the family. My brother Alan currently has it. It's displayed above his fireplace. I got stuffed Rex. Alan and I trade these heirlooms every five years.

Heather and I are going to have this framed ... being that it's family and all.

Hang in There!

Heather and I are about to post more pictures and stuff ....

They will be on here before the weekend is over ... hang in there! ! ! ! !

Addicted to Digital/ DVD

Greetings All! First of all, thanks to all my family and friends who have been staying informed by checking out the blog and leaving us messages. We LOVE to read what you leave. Katie, I look forward to meeting you soon! Marz, if you are reading this, congrats on your impending arrival. Being a parent has to be the COOLEST thing I have ever been a part of.

Okay, now to the title of this blog. I have a love/hate relationship with all things digital/ electronic. We have a digital camera and a DVD camcorder with digital camera. Since having my son I have taken more pictures than I care to admit and have been recording the most mundane of baby adventures. Call this the "first baby novice factor" Everything he wears, every movement he makes, every postition he falls asleep in, every new person he meets must be recorded. I don't want to miss one growing moment with this baby. I want to always feel like I can turn back time and remember exactly what happened and when it happened. "Oh...look, his first bowel movement on a Sunday. We better take a picture of him today to remember this milestone!" That may be a bit extreme but I know other first time parents have felt the same way. Digital just makes this obsession all the easier and yet harder, because you don't want to delete a single picture- even if it means you have 400 of a sleeping baby! When my parnets had me they took a lot of pictures. As they added to the family they took less and less photos of my siblings- the novice factor was wearing off. Well, I won't have that excuse with digital! I guess the take home lesson of this blog is... be prepared to do for you future children what you did for your first!!! This reminds me, I need to get some of those adorable photos and update this blog!!!

By the way, we took Hudson to the doctor on Wednesday and he had almost regained his birth weight. He was 9 lb 3 oz. We don't have to go back until he is a month old. It is so hard for me to believe that he is already two weeks old!!!!
