Greetings All! First of all, thanks to all my family and friends who have been staying informed by checking out the blog and leaving us messages. We LOVE to read what you leave. Katie, I look forward to meeting you soon! Marz, if you are reading this, congrats on your impending arrival. Being a parent has to be the COOLEST thing I have ever been a part of.
Okay, now to the title of this blog. I have a love/hate relationship with all things digital/ electronic. We have a digital camera and a DVD camcorder with digital camera. Since having my son I have taken more pictures than I care to admit and have been recording the most mundane of baby adventures. Call this the "first baby novice factor" Everything he wears, every movement he makes, every postition he falls asleep in, every new person he meets must be recorded. I don't want to miss one growing moment with this baby. I want to always feel like I can turn back time and remember exactly what happened and when it happened. "Oh...look, his first bowel movement on a Sunday. We better take a picture of him today to remember this milestone!" That may be a bit extreme but I know other first time parents have felt the same way. Digital just makes this obsession all the easier and yet harder, because you don't want to delete a single picture- even if it means you have 400 of a sleeping baby! When my parnets had me they took a lot of pictures. As they added to the family they took less and less photos of my siblings- the novice factor was wearing off. Well, I won't have that excuse with digital! I guess the take home lesson of this blog is... be prepared to do for you future children what you did for your first!!! This reminds me, I need to get some of those adorable photos and update this blog!!!
By the way, we took Hudson to the doctor on Wednesday and he had almost regained his birth weight. He was 9 lb 3 oz. We don't have to go back until he is a month old. It is so hard for me to believe that he is already two weeks old!!!!
