And then .... there was poop

Hudson finally pooped today. We were worried that he hadn't pooped in 3 days. If he didn't do it today, the doctor wanted us to see him tomorrow. However, he pooped ... and boy did he ever!

Yikes!

He's now sleeping like he just emptied his bowels after a splurge at a weekend Mexican buffet. Any man must envy that kind of poop. A 30 year-old could have read War and Peace or A-J of the Encyclopedia in the time it would have taken to poop that much out. However, Hudson did it in just under ten seconds. That's my boy!

So we can all sleep well knowing that Hudson's bowels are working : )

Startdate- Wednesday 9/24/07; entering uncharted waters

Well, I can finally say that I TRULY appreciate my mom. This mothering thing is draining. I have never worried so much or loved so much. And what's up with this nursing thing? Who does this? I feel like a milk maid and I am beginning to look like one too! My nursing goal has dwindled from 1year to 6 mos and now I am holding at 3 mos!!!! I exaggerate a little. It actually is going surprisingly well. I probably can thank my 9lb baby for that. He is thriving. Went to the doctor today for a well visit and he is gaining weight and we anticipate he will regain to his birth wt (a whopping 9lb 4 oz) very soon.

He still is slightly jaundice and isn't moving his bowels as he should; which coincidently will help with the jaundice. So, we are praying for our own little miracle of improved bowel movements. I can't believe my prayers have changed so drastically!! I am praying for baby poop!! what have I become? I have become a mother- that is what I have become and I wouldn't trade one second of it!! God bless and please leave comments and let us know what you think

New Family

Today we were discharged from the hospital. It is a surreal feeling to be sent on your way with a human COMPLETELY dependent on you. I didn't get my degree in parenting and even if I did, I don't think anything can prepare you for this reality.

I don't think Chris mentioned our son's full name. His name is Hudson Graem Pendleton. Hudson is old english for "Richard's son". Richard means strong ruler and refers to King Richard the lionheart. Not too bad for our little boy.

We have A LOT of pictures to post but it might take a few days as our priorities are mainly feeding, changing, and sleeping- pretty much in that order. Stay tuned for more pictures...

Hudson Pendleton has Arrived!

Here are some pictures of the baby. Heather is still at the hospital. I ran home long enough to change clothes and put these pictures on web. Enjoy ! ! !

More to come!

September 20th and still no baby

Well, yesterday was the official due date and I have had no signs that would indicate the baby has any interest in being born. I go to the doctor tomorrow and intend to schedule an induction for early next week if he shouldn't come. Chris has a few more days off before he starts his new job so I would like to have him and the baby home at the same time. This waiting time has allowed for me to get plenty of rest and to do a few limited projects around the house. Now, it is just a waiting game. Will keep you posted. Hopefully the next entry will be to introduce ya'll to our newest addition!!!

Where's the Baby????

Greetings from Durham, NC. No news on Baby P. He seems to be very comfortable in his current home and has no immediate intentions of vacating the premises. Mom on the other hand is all too eager to take her body back and sleep on her back and/or stomach!!! However, all in all, I am doing very well and we are just anxious to see our little boy!! Hope everyone is doing well. Stay tuned for more pictures and updates!!
